Rental property Deposit Requirements

Often, the first questions a new tenant asks are :

" when do I have to pay the deposit?"

  and

" How much deposit must I pay?"

On the day the lease is signed, the tenant is required to pay a months rent, plus a months

  rent as deposit.

In some cases, if the tenant is in a difficult financial and / or personal situation, the deposit

can be guaranteed by a local charity called Fife Key Fund.

We accept Fife Key Fund deposits, and, if you wish to see if you qualify, please contact them

  directly on 01592 201849.

At the end of the lease, the deposit is only returned after a full and final inspection of the

property has taken place. In most cases, due to our regular inspection policy throughout

the tenancy, the deposit is returned in full.

Following the final inspection, should remedial work be required, the cost of such work

will be taken from the deposit, with the balance, if any, being returned to the tenant once

  the work is completed.
